Simon joined Travers Smith in 2005 and became a partner in 2007. He specialises in corporate, finance and property taxation and advises companies and institutions on a wide variety of matters.

Simon´s recent transactions include:
  • the reorganisation of the NCP group and sale of its off-street parking business
  • the acquisition of 30 North Colonnade, Canary Wharf
  • London Mining plc´s $810m disposal of its Brazilian operations and subsequent return of capital
  • the £190m IPO of Metric Property Investments PLC, a newly formed Real Estate Investment Trust
  • the acquisitions by Värde Partners of portfolios of distressed receivables
  • the acquisition of New Energy Finance by Bloomberg
  • the sale by a consortium of leading banks of the Turquoise trading platform to the London Stock Exchange
  • the sale by the SSP group of the Harry Ramsden’s restaurant chain
Simon is co-chairman of the City of London Law Society’s Revenue Law Committee and is the UK’s National Reporter for the International Bar Association Tax Committee. He has contributed chapters to Tolley’s Tax Planning and the PLC tax guide and is regularly published in the tax press. Simon is individually recommended in the Legal 500, Chambers and the Tax Directors’ Handbook.
